With lots of MNCs majorly software companies looking at India as a very huge pool of talent and hence approaching for it, a trend to become entrepreneur being observed in India in recent few years. This crowd is mostly people who have some good rich working experience in IT industry, the people with 8-20 yrs of experience though we can not ignore the fresh gradutes too who chose to be employer rather than employee.
Actually the interesting point is to differentiate between "innovating a new concept" and "to build a company which runs on already innovated concept", since everyone can see the boom in India and just want to be entrepreneur so it hardly matter to which side you are; but mostly companies are in second pool.
If you look at current few startups in India then most of them are in search field, few are in local search as www.guruji.com being early example. It seems the motives behind these startups are actually defined by huge success of www.google.com .
Now a days people wants to innovate things which can pull them a good user base and hence 'Advertisements'.But where the innovation in technology gone ? The motive of technology is to make human life better, better and better, but it has shifted towards money making business. Geeks are trying for user base instead of technology.
Look at the difference among, Apple, Microsoft and Google, which are considered as very successful companies. Apple and Microsoft had tried to make human life better through their innovative products and has evolved technology, though Google has also tried upto an extent but not really. Google's business has shifted towards money making. Google has really redefined the rules of business, which is appciated by young entrepreneurs around the globe.
I am not critising Google for its money making strategies, because an entrepreneur's job is to make money, but since great minds who could change the world with technology are diverted towards this new kind of business is pathetic.

Its not about the Idealism of Google or Microsoft, its just about the latest trend of entrepreneurship in web 2.0
as per i think and know business has only one ideal "money".... nothing like human development or technology development comes where term business is.... these are just term to fool people...
Certainly any business is started with the intent of making money..& money is actually that will help the business run so there is no harm to it ..but as a business matures a mature entrepreneur needs to be take responsibility to develop ways & means to improve life for one and all
what i expacted from the title was something more concrete numeric,conceptual and less philosophical and philanthropic.it's ur choice nyway.........write what soothens u.

Capitalism is absolutely fine, but if you watch it more closely then What we earn money for ? and if we can't use it for comforts then its of no use.
Now the question is how the comforts are innovated/discoverd ? And if to desing/develop/innovate/discover comforts is not the primary responbility of technology then who's it is ?
And if we dont want to avail comforts then probably we are confused about life. Someone has said, "Life meant to live"..isnt it?
From ur words -- more comfort (means chasing pleasure…) is development ….!!!
Then these are no point to talk about ideology & values…!!!
But don’t miss-concept Technology with Science …!!!
Technology came from Industry …!!!
Technology – To make production profitable!!!
Without this there is no place for technology in market…!!!
& without market I don’t think our sense-less universities (which are so proficient to produce expert technicians ... also industries of different kinds...) can sustain
It even for couple of years….!!!
(Finally its market which drives technology & life of technocrats ….. & its profit which drives market ….. There may be exception in 1st but never in 2nd ….)
I think any company u take, the main motive is money manking only. If u take the example of MS or Apple, no doubt these companies are doing real inventions, bringing new products in marked with more flexible, user friendly, and comfortable utilities, but the real motive is money. Because of the competition in global market, companies have to come up with new kind of products and utilities. U cannot blame one company for making money. Every company has its different domain and work area.
